Malaya Alexander, MSW, RSW

Malaya Alexander is a registered social worker, with professional and personal experience with a variety of mental health issues. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Sociology specializing in sexual violence prevention. Malaya has practiced in various capacities including mental health counselling, program facilitation; community development; crisis and trauma response; and child and family advocacy. Malaya’s lived and professional experience with mental health issues influences her approach to public education. She draws upon this experience and knowledge to provide a safe space for participants to meaningfully learn, practice new skills and to engage in self-reflection. Malaya has provided workshops on mental health, sexual violence prevention, and social justice issues across North America, SE. Asia, and Southern Africa. Her workshops are engaging, practical, and interactive.
