Become certified to teach Trauma Informed Care through Oaks Mental Health!

OUTLINE

Day 1 – (9am – 3pm) Experience Trauma-Informed Care as a Participant

Day 2 – (9am – 3pm) Walkthrough of the Instructor Manual, Administrative Overview, and Facilitation Strategies

Day 3 – (9am – 3pm) Participants Practice Facilitating the Course and Feedback on Presentations

KEY POINTS

  • Certification allows you to present this workshop only at your organization of employment, or to the public should you reside outside of Saskatoon
  • Having an internal facilitator for Trauma Informed Care is the most cost-effective means of training staff on an ongoing basis

FEES

  • There is a one-time registration fee of $2,000 + gst
  • You may be eligible to receive this training for FREE through the Re-Skill Saskatchewan Training Subsidy
  • Participant manuals are priced at $30 each

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You must purchase a participant manual for each person who attends a training
  • You must facilitate at least two (2) trainings per year to maintain certification
  • You must not alter the workshop in any way, or add your own content, unless you receive prior written consent from Oaks Mental Health

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Varied experiences working with people with trauma histories
  • Some experience facilitating groups or teaching
  • Confidence in public speaking
  • A commitment to and understanding of trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, strengths-based, and harm reduction approaches

  • A letter of recommendation endorsing your facilitation or teaching skills
